Born
in Santa Monica, CA and now resides in Arcadia, CA. Bill organized
the LA Quakes way back in 1980 as the player/coach of the LA Stingers.
The Stingers, losing games and fans while playing in Burbank, CA,
decided to change the team name to the LA Quakes and moved franchise
to Paramount, CA and later to Lakewood, CA in the early 90's. With
new name and look, Bill started to build his team bringing in younger
talent and started winning more games than ever which played well
with the ever increasing fan base. By mid to late 90's, Bill built
the franchise to playing championship caliber hockey. Now in his
mid 50's, Bill has one of the longest running tenurs as player/coach/GM.
Bill still can be found getting in on the action and teaching the
younger players on the Quakes the "Old Style" of hockey.
Bill has been coach and general manager of the Quakes for over 25
seasons. |
